65% of our body is made of water. 72% of the Earth's surface is covered with water. The water cycle is present everywhere on our planet, and Patagonia concentrates all its states.

Water in gaseous state

The exceptional landscapes that can be observed in Patagonia are witnesses to this liquid transhumance. To immerse oneself in it is to merge with ourselves.

In the gaseous state, the water vapors pushed by the winds, always present in Patagonia, form the clouds to transform into water in the liquid state; then, the rains and snows will give way to rivers, streams, waterfalls and lakes that will join the sea. In the solid state, the water will form glaciers and drifting icebergs.

Underwater

It’s truly exceptional to be able to observe water in all its forms and to measure its strength, its evolution, its purity and all that comes from it. Present from the sky to the bowels of the earth, from the clouds stretched by the winds, to the soils and roots of all the primary forests, from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean, carving deep ice cavities, moraines, rivers, streams, immense lakes to brave the steep reliefs that present themselves in front of it. The compacted ice forms glaciers of sizes that exceed the imagination and walls of ice then flow into the sea and into lakes.

Water is a vital element

If there is one element that I identify with, it is water, because it soothes me, renews me, transforms me… My favorite color, by far, is blue. The blue of water, of the depths, of the sky too. Fresh water or salt water, both suit me, for different reasons… Water awakens my senses.

Connecting

Salt water, the sea, is of course life. When I am on the edge of a beach and I enter the sea, I always think of the same thing: I tell myself that opposite, far away opposite, at the other end of the earth, another person is facing me and advancing into the sea as well. The united sea of peoples, lands, landscapes, animals, it’s a sacred flow. I like to remind myself of this when I sink into it. Putting your head under water is connecting to another world, to the aquatic world.

Listening

What I really like underwater is listening, listening to its silence. But it’s a false silence… little noises, the water moving, whispering, moving shells, little elements. It’s extraordinary to be able to listen to these minimalist sounds. Listening to the water is then plunging myself into a hypnotic state, it’s listening to my body too, to the beating of my heart.

Observing

The movement of water, waves, current, different shades of color, shapes, infinity in a palette of blue tones, it’s simply beautiful. Observing to look for shapes, believing or seeing things, like a sweet dream. In the lakes of Patagonia, I like to swim far away, where the water is transparent, where the big blue is beneath me. Diving there is like taking a weightless journey… It’s exceptional. Surrounded by mountains and quite unique natural landscapes, I like to observe the connection of water with trees, rocks, wind, air, everything is so natural.

Feeling

I love feeling the sensation of water surrounding me, feeling the air bubbles all along my body. Feeling the water carrying me and taking me where it wants, I love to abandon myself to it, to become one with it. To swim and feel that my swimming is like a dance with it, this water that puts my ideas back in place, invigorates me… It’s worth all the therapies in the world. I like to remember all the path that the water has taken to get there, where I am now, in it, in its flow, capturing its energy.

The water gently pushes me towards the edge, it’s time to get out and, thanks to it, I am a new man…
