For those who wish to focus on relaxation, rest and fitness, I offer tours enhanced by swimming in thermal waters in the middle of nature, rest in accommodation equipped with spa, saunas and jacuzzi, providing massages with hot stones from the Andes… But also much more original activities such as meditative walks, meditation or yoga sessions in the heart of nature to completely recharge your batteries.
The geothermal activity of certain regions of Chile and Argentina allows you to find several sources of thermal waters, natural pools whose mineral and curative waters vary from 20° to 60°. Free days will also be available to relax as much as possible in charming accommodations that are well located and, above all, well chosen! For your well-being, here are some examples of spas, saunas and thermal waters; sites for meditative walks, meditation sessions, yoga in the great outdoors; as well as musical relaxation sessions such as gong baths that I offer you. Knowing that many other sites are possible and in other regions than those presented below.
Meditation and yoga in nature
Yoga in Bariloche
“Meditation is a way to access our sacred space” And what better way to do it than outdoors, in front of a natural site? Nature being sacred, if we are surrounded by natural elements, access to our internal space is even easier. I suggest you go to the Ventisquero Negro Glacier, which is located at the foot of Cerro Tronador in San Carlos de Bariloche and be in contact with the five elements: AIR, FIRE, WATER, EARTH, ETHER. And this through different sites.
AIR symbolizes the mind. Asanas (yoga posture) promote the development of breathing and consciousness. To order the mind and slow down the flow of thoughts. WATER symbolizes emotions. We’ll concentrate in front of a waterfall, a river to channel these emotions. FIRE symbolizes the transformation of energy. We’ll gather around a fire ceremony.
EARTH symbolizes the body, energy in its densest aspect. According to relaxation specialists, one of the first steps to relax is to accept your body. A mountain or a volcano is a direct symbol to succeed in taking root, affirming your foundations, our I am and thus raising our consciousness. ETHER symbolizes expansion. It’s considered the main element, the primary element of all. At birth we are limitless, then we accommodate ourselves to a culture, a family, a personality. We’ll therefore try to deconstruct ourselves, listen to our intuition, play…
Relaxation at the foot of the Villarrica Volcano
Geometric thermal waters of Villarrica
Located on the southern slope of the Villarrica Volcano, the Geometric Thermal Baths “Termas Géométricas” with their unrivaled architecture are undoubtedly the best place to relax in the middle of nature. On the way, we’ll visit the village of Licán Ray, where we’ll take a short walk that will take us to a viewpoint overlooking Lake Calafquén, with the Villarrica Volcano as a backdrop.
Further on, we’ll stop at the edge of the “Río de Lava”, a lava flow of impressive amplitude, dating from the eruption of 1964. Then we’ll continue our way along the edge of Lake Calafquén, before going back up the track that leads to the thermal baths. The many pools (17) are located at the bottom of a narrow natural canyon. They are accessed by a wooden footbridge leading to a waterfall. The water temperature varies depending on the pools, between 41° and 37°. An exceptional place, the best thermal waters I know, it’s hard to leave this place once you’re there…
Thermal waters near Pucón
The intense geothermal activity, resulting from the presence of numerous volcanoes in the surroundings of Pucón, means that there are several sources of thermal waters in this area. Different facilities allow visitors to enjoy the benefits of these thermal waters. Located in the most beautiful landscaped settings, your visit can only be a healthy and pleasant moment. Also noteworthy are the Los Pozones, Huife, San Luis, Quimey-co, Menetue and many others…
Meditative walks in the forest
The forests of Patagonia
I offer meditative walks in different settings of forests, desert, canyon… Especially in the Nahuel Huapi National Park. The idea is to walk in silence, to give importance to one’s own breathing and to the elements that surround us. To have a “conscious” breathing and to concentrate on each step that we take. By becoming aware of the support of the feet, from the heel to the tip of the toes, on the ground, leaving aside external thoughts and stimulation.
It’s highly recommended to add a mantra to each group of steps. The Om Mani Padme Hum is considered to be the mantra of compassion, the very sound of the union of Earth and Heaven.
It’s important to feel one’s surroundings, palpitating outside as well as inside, like a union with the air we breathe, the sounds and beings that surround us. The ecstasy that can be felt is the state of Meditation itself, also known as Samādhi or super consciousness. An original experience to find oneself and feel the natural external elements.
In the petrified Inca ruins
Thermal waters in Mendoza
In Argentina, I suggest you discover near Aconcagua, the incredible “Puente” Inca Bridge: a bridge made of salt, petrified by the hot waters of a thermal spring flowing at 38°C. Hidden in the hollow of a ravine, of an incredible sulfur yellow, it overlooks a torrent.
One of the local legends tells that it was formed miraculously, when a seriously ill Inca prince, who had gone in search of a cure, had to cross the torrent. The old bridge having been destroyed by tremors, his followers formed a human bridge. Their bodies were transformed – under the action of who knows what charm – into stone!
Long ago, to complement a chic hotel in the province of Mendoza, a thermal center with several pools was built below the bridge. Today it looks like a ruin, petrified by the waters since the hotel was razed by an avalanche in the 1960s. A midnight swim in this setting is surreal.
Relaxation hotels in Argentina and Chile
Charming Hotels and Spas
In Chile and Argentina, many hotels offer you incomparable views of mountains, lakes, seas… Also I have very good addresses of these hotels with swimming pool, spa, relaxing corners. There’s something for everyone, so that you can rest and wander to moments of relaxation.
You can find very unusual and authentic accommodation, 4/5* star hotels set in the middle of spectacular natural sites, or almost wild campsites, where you can camp on the edge of a lake or in front of a volcano…
There’s also the option of renting a house, a chalet, a bungalow, a room in a hotel or a hostel… Generally speaking, I always prefer so-called “charming” accommodation, that’s to say small hotels and hostels, with few rooms, where the welcome is more personalized.
Relaxation and gong baths
Musical harmony based on Gongs
Here I offer you musical harmony sessions based on Gongs in San Carlos de Bariloche. In a Gong Bath, the vibrations associate and combine with all the energetic frequencies of the recipient’s nervous system. It brings benefits similar to those of relaxation, meditation, and controlled breathing, but without physical or mental effort. Gong relaxation is recommended to free oneself from stress, negative thoughts and to strengthen the nervous system.
The gong intervenes at all levels, from the physical to the mental, emotional and spiritual to heal and transform. The sound waves of the gong are almost palpable. They immediately generate a process of global regeneration and provoke positive changes in the recipient. A unique and surprising experience!
